Why is a republican form of government preserved or undermined by extensive size?
I could use some help answering the basic question, and if anyone has specific examples of James Madison or Brutis explaining these views that would help further in answering the original question, which is “Why is a republican form of government preserved or undermined by extensive size, according to the views of Brutus and Publius (James Madison)?”
Because if government grows, there has to be more taxes on the population. Then the people don’t have as much money to spend, lower standard of living, and less economic growth.
