Can i get sued for making a political satire website of my local government? Can my site be forced down?
I want to make a website spoofing the local government, but i don’t want to get sued or waste my time, i’m also going to state blatantly that the site is for entertainment purposes only.
I would also be using pictures of the various officials of the government taken from the towns website
A satire site would be fine, but you shouldn’t use pictures of real politicians, since there are plenty of legal avenues they can persue. Defamation, or copyright infringement. Same with modelling your site too closely to real politicians – they can be sensitive creatures.
