d.because the united states is a democracy, political parties are considered the only way to bring people together

b. Is not a true statement since the parties have nothing to do with communication of anything to government.
c. Is totally false in that political parties are bringing people together.
d. While I truly hate to concede that our once great Republic has transcended into a democracy, it sure seems so. Political parties do bring people of like mind together to support the candidate which represents their basic philosophy.
Thus I would have to go with D as being considered as a vital link.
